Bobcaygeon Agriculural Society President | 2023 - 2024

 

The Bobcaygeon Agricultural Society would like to acknowledge the deeply felt loss of our friend Steve Oliver.

 

Steve's involvement with our annual fall fair began at an early age, introduced to many facets of it through the participation of his parents, Neil & Florence Oliver - in showing cattle, sheep, crops, preserves, baking, produce and of course the parade. Steve and his siblings showed calves in 4H and through Junior Farmers. In later years, he participated readily as a volunteer with the Ag Society, joining the executive in 2018.

 

Open to new ideas and quick to share a positive word, Steve led the board with an enduring respect for his peers, a collaborative spirit and good nature. Steve demonstrated a commitment to evolving the fair to ensure its success in the years to come.

 

He will be deeply missed by our board and volunteers who had the opportunity to engage with Steve. We are so grateful for his quiet dedication to making a positive impact in our community, through our organization, and the many others of which he was a member.

 

Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with Steve's wife Karen Junkin, his children, and extended family.
